Spider-Man 4 set photos exploded online today, revealing a visibly downbeat Peter Parker as filming continued just a day after reports Tom Holland was injured on set.

Spider-Man 4 set pics hit the timeline today, and one shot in particular went instantly viral because, well, Spidey looks like he just failed midterms. It landed a day after those reports that Tom Holland got hurt on set, which only made the internet read into it more. Context time.

Filming is underway on 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' in Basingstoke — yes, Basingstoke — and new on-location photos show a suited-up Spider-Man who is almost certainly a stunt double, not Holland. One image has him standing in full costume, completely deflated, head down, the posture of a man who just lost the rent money on a broken web-shooter. Fans immediately turned it into a meme factory. For what it is worth, other shots from the same day show a normal, upright Spidey doing normal, upright Spidey things, so this might have just been a between-takes moment that looked hilariously tragic out of context.

'Spider-Man is here, not Tom.'

In other words, do not panic — or do, because honestly the photo is a whole mood.

Worth flagging: the timing. These pics surfaced one day after those on-set injury reports about Holland. The sad-Spidey image fueled the rumor mill, but again, the person in the suit here appears to be a double. So file this under funny-odd, not story-shattering.

If you are keeping score at home, here is where Spider-Man 4 stands and who is involved:

  • Title: 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' (aka Spider-Man 4)
  • Director: Destin Daniel Cretton
  • Writers: Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers
  • Cast: Tom Holland back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man; Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are expected to return; new additions include Sadie Sink, Liza Colon-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, and Trammell Tillman
  • FYI: It is Bernthal who recently reprised Marvel anti-hero duties in 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 1
  • Producers: Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O'Connor, and Avi Arad
  • Where they are shooting: Basingstoke, per the on-set fan photos making the rounds
  • Release date: July 31, 2026 in U.S. theaters
  • MCU schedule around it: 'Avengers: Doomsday' on December 18, 2026 and 'Avengers: Secret Wars' on December 17, 2027, with 'Doomsday' having shifted back

Bottom line: Spidey is on the streets, the internet is doing what it does, and the movie is quietly stacking an interesting cast under Cretton. If that one photo is any indication, Peter is about to have a rough day — or at least his stunt double did between takes.
