Juicy inside, crispy outside—the weeknight recipe winning over families fast.

Craving something crispy and actually worth your time? These chicken strips land right in the sweet spot: juicy center, crackly crust, and you control every ingredient. It is the comfort-food energy of a drive-thru, made on your stove with pantry basics.

What you will need

  • 500 g chicken fillet (breast works best)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100 ml milk
  • 150 g wheat flour (all-purpose)
  • 150 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • Vegetable oil for frying, about 300-400 ml

How to make it

1. Prep the chicken: Slice the fillets into long strips about 2-3 cm wide. Lightly pound each strip with a meat mallet to tenderize. Season evenly with the salt and black pepper.

2. Set up your dredging line: Three shallow bowls. Bowl 1: flour. Bowl 2: eggs and milk, whisked until smooth. Bowl 3: breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, and oregano.

3. Coat: Dredge each strip in flour and shake off the excess. Dip into the egg-milk mixture. Roll in the breadcrumb mix and press gently so the crumbs cling for a solid crust.

4. Heat the oil: Pour vegetable oil into a deep skillet or saucepan to a depth of 3-4 cm (you will use roughly 300-400 ml). When a pinch of breadcrumb hits the oil, sizzles fast, and turns golden, you are ready to fry.

5. Fry: Add the strips in small batches so they have room to float. Cook 3-4 minutes per side until golden-brown. Move to a plate lined with paper towel to wick off extra oil.

Serve

Bring them to the table hot for maximum crunch. They pair perfectly with ketchup, cheese sauce, mustard, or ranch. A scatter of fresh parsley or dill is a nice touch. Add fresh veggies or your favorite potato side to round out the plate.
