Silo Season 2 Is Finally Here: What Is It About & Is It Better Than Season 1?
The post-apocalyptic adventure continues.
The first two episodes of Season 2 of the sci-fi series Silo are now available on Apple TV+. The show became one of the most successful streaming projects last year.
Juliette Became the Rebel Symbol
The first episode of the second season picks up where the first season left off. The main character, Juliette, who was investigating the mysterious death of her beloved George, leaves the shelter and sees an endless number of the same bunkers around. But it is not clear what condition they are in and if there are people inside.
The air in the spacesuit is running out, so she scours to the nearest door and sees a pile of bodies in front of it, and the showrunners carefully show viewers a flashback from that bunker's past that is frighteningly similar to what happened in the shelter Juliette came from.
Tensions between the lower and upper floors escalated to the point where a riot broke out – the government was overthrown, people took to the outside and died. But the rebels Juliette left behind have an even stronger symbol – herself.
By leaving the safe house and crossing the hill (earlier, everyone had seen a man fall dead through the cafeteria window and not make it to the top), she gave everyone hope for a better future and became an icon of the resistance. By the end of the first season, Juliette was convinced that the nuclear disaster had indeed happened.
New Bunker & New Mysterious Character
The first episode is devoted to the study of Bunker 17, which is identical in design and structure to Juliette's bunker. Viewers are surprised by the unexpected appearance of a stranger behind the door of a shelter.
In the second season, the creators returned to the successful dramatic composition of the first season. The already leisurely flow of events is deliberately slowed down with the help of digressions and flashbacks. The plot advances thanks to a detective intrigue – attempts to learn the secrets of the bunker's structure and the origin of the catastrophe.
This season, there are only more mysteries. Now the action is divided into two locations. In the new bunker, Juliette will once again try to find out the truth. What led to the death of almost all the inhabitants? Who is the mysterious man behind the door?
Silo Season 2 Is Made in the Best Traditions of Season 1
From the first episodes, the new season of Silo maintains its level: voluminous and mysterious characters, a tantalizing secret that the authors are in no hurry to reveal, as well as a deceptively cozy setting in a retro atmosphere.
The main character continues to demonstrate miracles of everyday ingenuity and resourcefulness, building a homemade bridge and opening locked doors in a dilapidated bunker. Silo remains an original dystopia that inventively illustrates the relationship between the authorities and the people, offering a kaleidoscope of viewpoints.
