Throughout Season 6, Young Sheldon viewers were on the edge of their seats, anticipating the most heartbreaking event in Shelly's life as known from The Big Bang Theory. Among the many things the adult Sheldon shared about his childhood on the original show, he said that when he was thirteen, he walked in on his father having sex with a strange woman.

When George got close to Brenda Sparks in the sixth episode of YS, many assumed he would cheat on her, but it never happened, leaving many viewers wondering if it would happen at all. Now it seems that the upcoming fourth episode of season 7 will answer that question.

The Three-Knock Rule

On The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon is known to have a number of strange rules and habits. The most famous of these is Sheldon's habit of knocking three times before entering a room to avoid walking in on people having sex. The rule is said to have originated in the character's childhood, when he allegedly caught his father cheating. But did George actually cheat, or did Sheldon's faulty perception misinterpret what he saw?

In Season 7 of Young Sheldon, George and Mary seem to be as strong as ever. In the last, third episode, the two had a very romantic correspondence by mail while Mary was in Germany with Sheldon. Episode 4 will focus on Mary and Shelly's return to Medford, where the whole family is very excited to see them. And judging from the promo, the future Dr. Cooper will walk in on something unseemly, which is likely to be George's affair.

Roleplay

There are a couple of possible developments for this storyline. Since Mandy and Georgie have been living in the house after the tornado, and have been having sex all over the place – George walked in on them in the shower in episode 3 – Sheldon could become an unwilling witness to their lovemaking. Or there could be another way the story could go, which would also explain a lot about Sheldon's memories of his father's affair.

Since Mary and George have been apart for some time and seem to have rekindled their love and passion for each other, they could have a very warm reunion in episode 4. Perhaps the trip to Germany will inspire Mary to try something kinky, and she will dress up as someone during sex. As a result, Sheldon won't recognize her and come to the conclusion about the affair. Mary and George will be too embarrassed to talk to him about it, and the misunderstanding will remain.
