People are still wondering why Kassidi was written off the show so suddenly.

Showtime's Shameless was one of the most controversial series during its 11-season run, with fans often shuddering in disgust at some of the character's actions.

The story of a dysfunctional family doing whatever it takes to survive featured many deaths, but one that stuck with fans the most was that of Carl's girlfriend, Kassidi.

Kassidi was first introduced in season eight, and this annoying young woman obsessed with Carl immediately became an important character due to her larger-than-life personality and strong feelings for Carl.

The couple even got married at one point, but it wasn't official because they both lied about their ages. When Carl enrolled in a military academy, fans were not quite sure how their relationship would work out, and it seems that the writers decided to end this storyline in the worst possible way – by killing Kassidi.

Kassidi decided to camp outside a military school, which greatly annoyed Carl, who at one point complained to his cadets that he would never get promoted because of her. The very next day, one of the cadets reported to Carl that he had taken care of his problem and that Cassidi's body would never be found. Wait, what...

Yes, one of Carl's cadets killed Cassidi in cold blood, and no one ever did anything about it.

Carl didn't care at all, and no one from her family even tried to look for the girl, even though they all knew she was with Carl. Until the end of the series, this murder subplot was never brought up, leaving fans wondering why it was introduced in the first place.

Fans were seriously disappointed with the show's writers, arguing that all actions should have consequences, and the fact that the girl's murder was not even addressed after it happened bothered the audience greatly. People feel that there were much better ways to write Cassidi out of the show than killing her. All in all, if the writers had introduced an investigation into her murder, the show might have gotten an interesting storyline instead of a major plot hole.
