Set Sail on the Rankings: Every Below Deck Show from Worst to First
Some shows are worse than others, yet every superyacht is beautiful in its own way!
The Below Deck franchise has spawned many spin-offs, and each one of them is unique and beloved by fans. But which Below Deck series is the best, and which one's the worst?
Here's our ranking of the popular series.
5. Below Deck Adventure
This spin-off was a breath of fresh air for the franchise and its fans, as this show was not set in the warm waters of the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, or the Andaman Sea, like the other series. The action takes place in the cold fjords of Norway, and that's quite an adventure!
What viewers are saying
Many people appreciated the charisma of Australian Captain Kerry Titheradge and the witty comments of Chef Stew Faye Clarke. However, all the other crew members were either too boring or too annoying, according to fans.
4. Below Deck
The legendary parent series deserves all the praise and accolades because, without it, there would be no spin-offs. Of all the other shows in the franchise, Below Deck gave us the most stunning views and best yachts, but also… probably some of the most misogynistic jokes.
What viewers are saying
Fans can't agree on their attitude to Captain Lee. Many think he's a great leader with witty banter, while others say he's not the most competent of captains.
Opinions are also divided over his departure, as Lee was replaced by Sandy Yawn in Season 10, and the show ended up feeling less like the Below Deck we loved.
3. Below Deck Down Under
Aboard the elegant yacht Thalassa, aka Keri Lee III, the Down Under team welcomed the charter season on the north coast of Australia, delighting viewers with a very fascinating season. By the way, the second one is already filming!
What viewers are saying
Down Under was praised by Aesha Scott from Seasons 4 and 5 of Mediterranean. However, it was also the first show to feature such an incompetent and self-centered chef — Ryan was too arrogant and his food wasn't the best, which disappointed guests and viewers.
2. Below Deck Mediterranean
Mediterranean is truly a chaotic show, ready to rival the original series. But unlike the other spin-offs, this show features tons of drama, which has earned it a silver medal.
What viewers are saying
The spin-off is very character-driven, which is what makes Mediterranean so hilarious. From the toxic heavy drinker João Franco with anger issues to Tasha Webb and her love intrigues, it's the most entertaining Below Deck series.
1. Below Deck Sailing Yacht
The crew of Parsifal III takes a well-deserved first place.
Compared to Mediterranean, the love triangles in Sailing Yacht are less crazy but equally entertaining. Another highlight is that the whole action is set against the backdrop of the yacht's perpetually failing engines. May a fair wind follow you, sailors!
What viewers are saying
Captain Glenn Shephard was an instant hit with viewers for his professionalism and empathy. Ileisha Dell is not only an experienced chief, she is also a great team player who can make smart remarks about her colleagues. Yep, and Season 4's love triangle was really fascinating to watch.
