I truly recorded that years ago, the star insists, brushing off claims of a rushed clapback as the surprise track’s timing fuels a social-media firestorm.

Apparently even Avengers lose track of their side quests. Elizabeth Olsen says she recorded Scarlet Witch lines for Marvel Zombies so long ago that she honestly can’t remember a thing about it.

Olsen says she did Marvel Zombies... and then immediately forgot

On stage with Paul Bettany at L.A. Comic Con, Olsen was asked about Marvel Zombies and basically shrugged at her own performance.

'I truly recorded that years ago. I can’t remember anything... I need to watch it. I have no idea what happens in Marvel Zombies.'

She explained that it was her voice in the show, and she did the session at home — not even in an office or studio. She guessed it was sometime in 2020 or 2021, wondered why she wasn’t in a proper booth, and apologized for not recalling what the experience was like. To be fair, plenty of voice work happened from living rooms in 2020/2021, which probably makes it all blur together.

Quick refresher: what Marvel Zombies actually is

Marvel Zombies is a spin-off of What If...? on Disney Plus that drops familiar MCU heroes into a full-on zombie apocalypse. Zombie Wanda is, unsurprisingly, one of the heavy hitters in that world — not that Olsen can give you the play-by-play right now.

Meanwhile, someone else had to Google the MCU

Olsen isn’t the only one catching up. Emily Hampshire, who is set to appear in Vision Quest, admitted she had to learn what MCU even stood for. After hitting the red carpet at the Artists for Peace and Justice annual gala (via etalk), she said she didn’t know much before, then binge-watched the movies and is now fully immersed. Honestly, relatable.

So where does that leave Scarlet Witch in the main timeline?

Wanda’s status is still murky. She appears to die at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and she’s not on the stacked Avengers: Doomsday cast list. But let’s be real: in the MCU, very few characters stay gone forever — especially not a witch who can bend reality when she’s having a bad day.
