Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Reunite — And Deadpool Isn’t Invited
Deadpool and Wolverine are crashing into Avengers: Secret Wars, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman expected to take major roles in the sixth Avengers film, according to insider Daniel Richtman on X.
Here we go again: the rumor mill says Deadpool and Wolverine aren’t done crashing Marvel’s biggest parties. And honestly, it tracks.
Deadpool and Wolverine are (reportedly) suiting up for Secret Wars
Industry insider Daniel Richtman (aka DanielRPK on X) is now saying Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will both be back for Avengers: Secret Wars — not just popping in, but with major roles. Marvel hasn’t confirmed a thing, so treat it like well-informed chatter for now, but it lines up with where things have been heading.
For anyone keeping score, the last time Reynolds and Jackman shared the screen was Deadpool & Wolverine — their official jump into the MCU proper. After that, Reynolds told Actors on Actors that he prefers Wade as more of a chaos agent than the main event, which frankly makes him perfect for a giant crossover circus like Secret Wars.
'I see him as a supporting much more than he is a main character, the center.'
Reynolds has also been nudging fans with teases, including an Instagram post of a red anarchy symbol splashed over the Avengers logo — which sent the internet spiraling with theories as intended.
What about Avengers: Doomsday?
Richtman’s latest notes don’t say Jackman or Reynolds are locked for Avengers: Doomsday, but a lot of folks assume Marvel won’t bench their buzziest duo during the Doctor Doom chapter. Again: nothing official yet, just momentum and vibes.
The Spider-Men rumor you were waiting for
Same report, more fireworks: Richtman also claims Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire are lined up for major roles in Secret Wars. Naturally, that raises the Andrew Garfield question. No word on him here — which doesn’t mean no, but it doesn’t mean yes either.
Hugh Jackman already cracked the door open
Jackman famously retired Wolverine after Logan in 2017, then changed his mind years later — with a little help from his persistent friend. On The View (via EW), he said Reynolds kept calling, he kept saying no, and then one day he flipped.
He also hinted he might not be done with this world yet, but made it clear Marvel decides when the music stops, not him.

Beyond Doomsday and Secret Wars: more Avengers on the way
If you figured these two were Marvel’s last mega-team movies, not so fast. When a fan asked Cosmic Circus writer Alex Perez if Doomsday and Secret Wars are the end of the line, he replied: 'Absolutely not.' He added that the Avengers brand will be retooled after Secret Wars.
The gist: the Avengers movies make too much money to mothball, and Marvel reportedly doesn’t want years-long gaps anymore. Expect two flavors going forward — the giant, world-ending mash-ups with rotating lineups, and smaller-scale team adventures that feel closer to The Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Perez also says the next Avengers arc is already cooking, and rumor is it’s another cosmic storyline. No shock there; the MCU loves space when it wants to reset the chessboard.
Bottom line: if Richtman is right, Deadpool and Wolverine are headed for a front-row seat in Secret Wars, Holland and Maguire might be slinging webs alongside them, and Marvel’s Avengers machine isn’t slowing down after 2027. Clear your December calendars now.
