Robson Green Finally Talks About Leaving Grantchester

Grantchester is back with Season 10, which premiered on PBS Masterpiece on June 15, and it's already been renewed for Season 11.
But while the show keeps going strong, some fans have been wondering whether Robson Green — who's played Geordie Keating since the very beginning — might finally be ready to move on.
Short answer? Nope.
"It's lovely when you go back to the Grantchester family," Green told TV Insider, praising the cast and crew behind the scenes. "We all still care, and it's the only series I've ever been involved in where that commitment — that fire, that need for it to do well — has held strong for such a long period of time."
Green's been playing Geordie for over a decade now, and he's also serving as an executive producer. And if anything, he seems more attached to the show than ever.
As for how he got the role? Total accident. In 2014, Green was out of work after Strike Back shut down production due to a serious injury on set. "I rang my agent and said, ‘Get me anything, I need the work,'" he recalled. One script on his desk was from Russell T Davies (Cucumber), and the other was a cozy period mystery called Grantchester.
He didn't even finish the first episode before deciding to take the part.
"It was so lovely and charming… and I saw myself as Geordie."
Since then, he's been the show's steady anchor across three vicars, dozens of murders, and plenty of trench coat-wearing moral conflict. And this season? Geordie's beliefs are getting tested again:
"Past belief systems come to the surface, and that's difficult for him to deal with."
So while the show has changed and evolved over the years, Robson Green isn't going anywhere. Grantchester Season 10 just started, Season 11 is on the way, and Geordie Keating is still very much on the case.
