Roblox Epic Minigames Halloween: Unlock the Secret Rune and Key in Minutes

Clock’s ticking in Roblox Halloween Spotlight: conquer objectives to grab Runes and Keys across every participating experience, Epic Minigames included, and secure all Keepsakes before the event disappears.

If you’re grinding Roblox’s Halloween Spotlight for every last Keepsake, Epic Minigames is a mandatory stop. The clock’s ticking too — the event wraps on November 3, 2025 — so here’s the clean, no-fuss path to both the Rune and the Key before time runs out.

The Rune: talk to Steve, snag a recipe, brew the potion

Head to the lobby and find Steve — the green zombie parked next to a cauldron. Chat him up and he’ll kick off a quest that starts with you hunting down a Spooky Recipe inside any minigame.

The recipe shows up as a golden pickup and can spawn in any minigame. It’s not rare. Keep your eyes open, grab it, then return to Steve. He’ll send you after ingredients listed on that recipe.

To see the exact ingredients and where they spawn, hover over the question mark on the quests tab on the right side of the screen. The recipe tells you which type of minigame each item appears in, and the pickups spawn randomly while you’re playing. You’re looking for three things: a red mushroom, a pale mushroom, and yellow flowers.

Bring all three back to Steve. You’ll brew a potion at the cauldron — but you have to drop the ingredients in the exact order shown on the recipe. Do that correctly, the quest completes, and you get your Rune.

The Key: three NPC errands and one speedy boss fight

The Key is a different setup — no recipe here. You need to talk to three NPCs upstairs in the lobby and finish their mini-quests. Then you’ll cap it off with a quick boss battle.

• The Werewolf (left side after you go upstairs): He wants you to banish 5 or more floating souls. You’ll need a Soul Lantern from the shop (costs 100 Tokens). Once you’ve got it, look for green floating souls around the lobby and walk up to them while holding the lantern to clear them.
• Mr. Monster (on the upstairs platform with the Epic Minigames decoration): First, find a Trafigurator — it’s a glowing golden gun that spawns randomly inside a minigame. After you pick it up, talk to Mr. Monster again. He’ll tell you to extract candy from frozen candy buckets. Jump into any minigame, find those frozen buckets, shoot them with the Trafigurator, and collect the candies that pop out.
• Count Tenance (right side after you go upstairs): He asks you to locate three hidden spider eggs around the lobby. Pro tip: zoom out and scan corners — the eggs shine, so they’re hard to miss. After you’ve found all three, talk to the Count again to start the Monster Melee minigame, where you’ll fight Venarak, a huge spider boss. You only get 90 seconds to take it down, so gather a crowd, dodge the attacks, and keep the damage rolling.

Once Venarak is toast, head back to Steve. He’ll tell you to take an item from his cauldron, but there’s a cover charge: 25 candies, which are the event-only currency. Spend the 25, grab the item, talk to Steve one more time, and the Key unlocks.
