Robin Hood storms back to screens as MGM+ premieres a bold reimagining on November 2, 2025, featuring an all-new cast and penned by co-writer John Glenn.

Yes, we are doing Robin Hood again. But this time it is a full-on series at MGM+, rolling out November 2, 2025, with a fresh cast and a version that leans into the Rob-and-Marian dynamic. Classic premise, new faces, and some interesting creative choices behind the camera. Let’s break it down.

What this Robin Hood is actually doing

The show plants us in the Middle Ages, right after the Norman conquest. Rob (Saxon) ends up leading a band of outlaws, while Marian (Norman nobility) plays the long game from inside the halls of power. The core legend stays intact: he fights from the forest; she fights from the court. The twist is the partnership—two fronts, same rebellion.

Release plan (and yes, it’s a two-episode premiere)

MGM+ kicks things off Sunday, November 2 at 9 pm ET/PT, and the season runs 10 episodes total. It’s produced by Lionsgate Television and was officially greenlit back in September 2024.

Cast: familiar faces, fresh leads

Jack Patten is stepping into the hood as Robin 'Rob' Hood, with Lauren McQueen as Marian. Sean Bean is the Sheriff of Nottingham (you can already hear the icy speeches), and Connie Nielsen plays Eleanor of Aquitaine, which is a very juicy piece of medieval power to plug into this story.

Also in the mix: Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, Marcus Fraser as Little John, Angus Castle-Doughty as Friar Tuck, and Henry Rowley as Will.

Who is making it (and why that matters)

John Glenn co-wrote the series and serves as showrunner. He and Jonathan English are both executive producers, and English is directing five of the ten episodes. If you are connecting dots: Glenn has credits on 'Journey to the Center of the Earth,' the modern 'Clash of the Titans,' and he wrote/directed 'The Lazarus Project.' That track record suggests action-forward mythmaking with a commercial streak, which fits Robin Hood like a glove.

The hook

What makes this version stand out is the dual approach: Rob’s rebellion in the woods balanced with Marian’s infiltration of the Norman court. It keeps the folk-hero energy while giving Marian an active, strategic lane. If the show sticks that landing, the weekly rollout from November into late December could actually feel like a proper adventure serial—just with espionage baked in.
