Mirrorball in hand, Robert Irwin isn’t slowing down. Fresh off his Dancing with the Stars finale win with Witney Carson on Nov. 25, the wildlife conservationist is already diving into new projects and teasing what’s next.

Robert Irwin just snagged the Mirrorball trophy on Dancing with the Stars, and instead of taking a victory lap, he’s already packing a suitcase. Classic Robert: win a season, catch a flight.

What happens after the win

Right after the November 25 finale, Irwin told E! News he’s basically turning the rehearsal grind into airport sprints. In his words:

"I go to New York and then straight to South Africa to film another show over there. And then, I’m back home."

He also isn’t leaving his dance partner behind entirely — Witney Carson will be heading to Australia to join him at some point. And yes, the guy is still a wildlife conservationist first; the TV stuff is just very much happening.

  • Won the Mirrorball in the Nov. 25 finale with partner Witney Carson
  • Immediate plan: New York, then South Africa to film another show, then home to Australia
  • Witney will join him in Australia post-season

The finale wasn’t all glitter

Their run to the trophy came with some bruises. On November 24, Carson posted a TikTok admitting the lead-up to the finale was brutal on both of them. Translation: bodies aching, stamina tested, and in Robert’s case, ribs that were not amused. They pushed through and still closed the deal the next night.

Family vibes on the ballroom floor

Irwin’s season kept circling back to family. His sister, Bindi Irwin, returned during an anniversary episode and performed a foxtrot with him — a full-circle moment if you remember her own DWTS run. Later, Robert reflected on Instagram that the dance was healing, deeply emotional, and a tribute to their dad. He’s been clear that every step he takes on TV still ties back to Steve Irwin’s legacy, and this was one of those times where the show’s spectacle actually lined up with something personal and meaningful.

So yes, Robert Irwin can ballroom. But if you blink, he’ll be halfway to South Africa working on the next thing. The man does not have a chill mode.
