REPO's Monster Update Just Went Off the Rails: Tumble-Grab Lets You Twerk Enemies to Death and Could Break the Whole Game

Secrecy used to sell the update. Now leaks, roadmaps, and regulator-driven disclosures telegraph features months in advance—turning stealth into strategy and raising a blunt question for the industry: what happened to the mystery?
REPO swore it was going quiet until the next update. Then the studio immediately did the opposite and showed off a new toy coming October 30. It is called 'tumble-grab,' and yes, it lets you grab stuff while you are tumbling. The fun is in the details.
How they revealed it
In a jokey video hosted by REPO marketing head Pontus Sundström, the team demoed tumble-grab in action. The feature is exactly what the name suggests, with a few extra wrinkles that make it way more than a panic button.
What tumble-grab actually does
- You can grab items mid-tumble, so getting flung around does not leave you empty-handed.
- It is not just items: you can latch onto surfaces too, then sort of shamble along walls and even across ceilings. It is technically climbing, but it looks more like a messy scramble.
- There is a stamina bar tied to tumble-grab, so you cannot hang on forever.
- If a monster like the Mentalist tosses you, you can snag a nearby weapon mid-air (they show a shotgun) and immediately turn the tables.
The silly part (and the devs know it)
The team leans into the chaos. They joke that the feature is still a:
'twerk in progress'
And then they proceed to use tumble-grab to, their words, 'twerk enemies to death.' It is delightfully stupid and also the kind of system that can spawn all sorts of accidental tech.
Will this break REPO?
The video is literally titled like it might, but Sundström does not dig into specifics. The gist is they are still poking at edge cases and ironing out kinks. Given how many new movement and interaction options this unlocks, that checks out.
When you can try it
October 30, with the next REPO update. Semiwork also teases 'other surprises in store,' so tumble-grab is probably not the only thing dropping that day.
