Since its premiere in 2017, Young Sheldon has been one of the most popular sitcoms on TV. As the only spinoff of CBS' hit comedy The Big Bang Theory, the show ran concurrently with its parent for two years until the latter's eventual conclusion. But despite belonging to the same franchise, the two shows couldn't be more different.

Following the childhood years of TBBT's most memorable character, Dr. Sheldon Cooper, Young Sheldon has enjoyed six seasons on the air, with the seventh installment premiering in a month. As Season 7 is set to wrap up the beloved sitcom, its fans are heartbroken to say the least. But it seems that every cloud has a silver lining. YS will be getting its own spin-off – one that viewers couldn't be more excited about.

The Most Exciting Plot Line on Young Sheldon

Although the TBBT spin-off is titled after Shelly Cooper, he hasn't been the show's central character for quite some time, as the rest of the family has been the focus of the audience's attention. So it is no surprise that YS fans are more interested in the storylines involving the titular character's family. In particular, Georgie and Mandy's love arc is the ultimate fandom favorite.

Introduced in Season 5 as a girl Georgie met at Meemaw's Laundromat, Mandy quickly won the audience's love. Naturally, when it was revealed that she was pregnant with Sheldon's older brother's baby, she became an indispensable character on the show, and their relationship, burdened by mutual lies and a significant age gap, became the center of attention.

A Story Worth Continuing

Season 6 of Young Sheldon had a dramatic ending when a tornado swept through Medford and destroyed Meemaw's house. But there were also beautiful moments. For example, George Sr. and Missy bonded over the disaster that struck them on the road. But more importantly, Georgie proposed to Mandy and she said yes.

Most likely, the wedding of the two characters will be the biggest event of the seventh and final season of the sitcom. But given their popularity with viewers, there's a lot of story to be told about Mandy and Georgie's marriage – especially since it's said on TBBT that it didn't last. Rumor has it that Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland, TBBT and YS showrunners, are developing a new spin-off about the fan-favorite couple.

While nothing is confirmed yet, it's exciting to even imagine the possibility of a Georgie and Mandy spin-off. As for Young Sheldon's seventh season, it's set to premiere on February 15.
