With its premiere amidst the global pandemic in 2020, Ted Lasso became the much needed solace for millions of viewers.

It has continued to spread positive, life-affirming messages for three seasons, and there have been lots of thought-provoking moments and lines throughout the show's run.

Here are seven one-liners that proved to be the most inspirational and memorable to fans.

  1. 'All people are different people'

The show preaches acceptance of life's diversity. Indeed, we are all very different, and as soon as you acknowledge that these differences aren't going anywhere and people will hardly ever meet your standards or expectations, you'll see life in a new, positive light.

  1. 'Find out before you flip out'

This line promotes exploration of new things. Don't dismiss anything until you try — and who knows, perhaps you'll find pleasure in the new activity. Even if it's something completely untypical for you, don't rule out possibilities before considering them at least.

  1. 'Be curious, not judgmental'

Building on the previous piece of advice, this one-liner inspires you to be inquisitive as well as empathetic. It's easy to jump to conclusions and judge others on their actions, but it's important to take a step back and explore other people's motives and situations, trying to sympathize with and relate to them.

  1. 'Don't fight back, fight forward'

Focus on the future rather than past conflicts. There is no use plotting revenge on your offenders when the most constructive thing you can do is work on your own development and try to outdo your rivals in the process. Going back to the previous point, it also helps to see your opponents as people with their own goals and values, rather than just enemies.

  1. 'Life doesn't happen to you, but happens for you'

Life is not just a collection of events, good and bad, that come tumbling down on you — it is a supreme gift first and foremost, and we should be grateful for and enjoy it.

  1. 'There is something worse than being sad and that is being alone and sad'

Bad things are unavoidable, and the best remedy for negative emotions is the company of like-minded people. Even if you only have a single friend to talk to when you really need it, this one person can do wonders and save you from falling into depression.

  1. 'The truth will set you free but first it will piss you off'

Personal growth is hard, and you'll face a lot of obstacles in the process. Whether you're dealing with serious trauma or just making your way through everyday difficulties, it's important to retain a sober outlook on life and have the strength to confront problems.

We'll see if the final episode of Season 3 will give us more inspirational quotes to remember. Episode 12 airs on Apple TV+ on May 31, 2023.
