Ready or Not 2 Moves Its Release Date — What It Means for Samara Weaving’s Horror Sequel
Ready or Not 2 has shifted again, with the Samara Weaving-led horror sequel now set to arrive March 20, 2026.
Release dates keep playing musical chairs, but for once the news is actually good. The Ready or Not sequel just moved up, not back.
New date (again)
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come now hits theaters on March 20, 2026. That is one week earlier than its most recent slot, March 27, 2026, which itself was already a shift from the original plan of April 10, 2026. So yes, it changed again — but this time in our favor.
What this sequel is
The follow-up brings Samara Weaving back as Grace, picking up right after the Le Domas family chaos from the first movie. Kathryn Newton joins as Grace's estranged sister, Faith, and the ensemble is stacked with familiar faces and a few surprises.

The setup
The sequel picks up moments after Grace survives the Le Domas bloodbath. She finds out the nightmare has levels, and she is not done playing. This time, Faith is pulled in with her.
"The next level of the nightmarish game."
The stakes are a lot bigger too: Grace has to stay alive, protect her sister, and fight for the so-called High Seat on a shadowy Council that supposedly runs the world. Four rival families are hunting her for that throne, and whoever comes out on top gets to rule it all. Going from a deadly wedding-night tradition to a globe-spanning power grab is a pretty wild leap, but if they stick the landing, it could be a fun swing.
Quick refresher on the first film
2019's Ready or Not starred Samara Weaving alongside Adam Brody, Mark O'Brien, Elyse Levesque, Nicky Guadagni, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell. The plot was simple and nasty: a new bride is forced into a family ritual that turns into a hunt through the mansion on her wedding night, all to appease the Devil. It was sharp, mean, and surprisingly funny, which is why a sequel makes sense — even if the mythology just got way bigger.
Bottom line: Ready or Not 2 arrives March 20, 2026. Pencil it in, and we will see if the calendar stops moving for once.
