Are you ready for a concentrated dose of awe and terror?

Some projects seem to be designed for certain times and occasions. For example, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BTVS) is amazing and probably still the best show in your life (heavily flavored with nostalgia). But during the Halloween season, the series starts to shine even brighter, bringing us the joy of the supernatural and spooky.

Do we even need to say that the Halloween specials in the Buffyverse (BTVS & its spinoff, Angel) take that eerie vibe to a whole new level?

If you don't have time to binge all 12 seasons of the original show and spinoff this October, but prefer the taste of concentrated Buffyverse scares, here are four specials that will do the trick, ranked by awesomeness.

4. BTVS S6E6: All The Way

Season 6 has many amazing storylines that take Buffy and her friends through some serious and pretty dark stuff. That's why the Halloween episode is so heartwarming, with the Scooby gang getting into a celebratory mood after Anya and Xander finally announce their engagement.

Of course, October 31st can't come without a big scare. The younger Summers, Dawn, sneaks out with a hot boy who turns out to be more than just an average jock and gets into trouble.

3. Angel S5E5: Life of the Party

This is actually the first and only Halloween special of Angel. But it is so captivating that it beats many episodes of BTVS. The special has everything you could want from the spooky season: a huge Halloween party, silly and sexy costumes, and an angry telepathic demon that causes people to act completely out of character and Angel and the gang to go into investigative mode.

2. BTVS S4E4: Fear Itself

Since Halloween has no particular effect on the creatures she hunts, Buffy is not a big fan of the holiday, preferring to spend All Hallow's Eve chilling at home. But in Fear Itself, the second overall special of the series, she reluctantly agrees to go to a frat party that quickly turns into a house of horrors due to a random demon summoning.

Despite its chilling title, the episode is a perfect mix of scares and comic relief. Just remember Willow and Oz's weird couple costumes!

1. BTVS S2E6: Halloween

Ok, we've reached the best of the best. And this special has a fitting title.

Imagine the chaos that would ensue if everyone was cursed to turn into their Halloween costume character. That is exactly what happens in this episode. And while Buffy becomes a helpless 19th century gentlewoman, Willow, now a Bonafide Ghost, has to save the day. Isn't that just perfect?

Will you be tuning in to the Buffyverse this October?
