According to Adjoa Andoh, who plays the Queen's confidante Lady Danbury on the show, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, has provided viewers with a rich backstory of her character. Now that viewers know what Lady Danbury was like in her youth, where she came from, and how she managed to make her way in the Regency world, they will have a different perspective on the character in Season 3.
'It certainly enriched my experience of playing Lady Danbury in season 3, knowing that the audience would be up to speed with who I am and where I'm from in a broader way than they would've been before Queen Charlotte came out,' the actress shared in a recent interview.
As a result, Season 3 will further explore the complexity of Lady Danbury's character as she battles her demons and comes to terms with past mistakes.
'We will also understand Lady Danbury's investment in the Bridgerton children in a more particular way because we now know about her beloved Lord Ledger who was Violet's father. So, you will understand the deep affection that she holds for this family and for Violet, most particularly, but also, of course, for Violet's children,' Adjoa Andoh commented on the spin-off impact on her character.
Lady Danbury's Connection with Penelope
With Season 3 following Colin and Penelope's love arc, we will see a lot of them in the upcoming installment. And while Lady Danbury doesn't really have much interaction with Pen, she does look out for her because, as we now know from the spin-off, she understands the hardships of being unwanted in the Ton.
It's unclear whether Season 3 will develop Agatha and Penelope's character arcs, but it's sure to be exciting. Season 3 of Bridgerton is scheduled to premiere on May 16.
