Priya Was One of The Worst Big Bang Theory Characters, According to Reddit
One of Leonard's love interests still has fans arguing about her, and not in a good way.
Priya Koothrappali made her first appearance in season four of the beloved CBS sitcom, and the heroine immediately showed herself to be a force to be reckoned with. In fact, Leonard met Raj's younger sister prior to her appearance on the show: as it was revealed later, the characters had a brief affair a few years before, but Priya refused to make it official, leaving Leonard in disarray.
After returning to Los Angeles, Priya renewed her relationship with Leonard, which made both her brother Raj and Penny feel very uncomfortable. Though the girl repeatedly stated that she was never serious about her affair with Leonard, Priya constantly demanded something from him, from buying her expensive clothes to ending his friendship with Penny.
Of course, fans were not happy about Leonard being treated as a plaything rather than a boyfriend, and condemned Priya for her overbearing and selfish behavior. Many people on Reddit expressed their irritation with the character, even going so far as to say that they would skip all episodes with her on repeat viewings.
After Priya returns to India at the end of season four, Leonard tries to maintain their relationship through dinner dates and even foreplay on Skype. But he definitely feels that their relationship is doomed, so when one of his romantic crushes visits the apartment, Leonard kisses her but stops when he realizes he is betraying his girlfriend.
He later confesses to Priya about kissing another woman, and that's when Priya reveals she slept with her ex a couple of weeks ago. The characters break up, and Leonard quickly forgets about his girlfriend, but fans still can't let go of the whole situation.
Some people blame both sides, saying that cheating is still cheating regardless of the circumstances. Others argue that Priya did the most unforgivable thing when she confessed to Leonard only after he had done the same. Moreover, some fans believe that her character was made unpleasant on purpose so people would root for Leonard and Penny, but that's certainly the reason why viewers see her as the worst character in the entire Big Bang Theory.
