Prime Video’s Breakout Hit Ballard Scores Season 2 Renewal

Prime Video is sticking with Ballard. Not exactly shocking, but here's the latest: Season 2 is happening, per Deadline, even though Amazon MGM Studios is keeping its mouth shut for now.

So, is Ballard officially renewed?

Deadline says yes. Amazon MGM Studios declined to comment, which is corporate for: paperwork in progress. The show also nabbed a $14.84 million California Film Commission tax credit back in August, which usually means a pickup is all but a formality. One wrinkle: Prime Video's internal shake-up likely slowed the announcement. Peter Friedlander recently stepped in as Head of Global TV, replacing Vernon Sanders, and those transitions tend to pause decisions like this.
