Pluribus Episode 7 Ends on a Cliffhanger, Leaving One Character’s Fate Hanging in the Balance
Pluribus raises the stakes in episode 7, The Gap, as Manousos’s hunt for Carol spirals into danger—and a brutal cliffhanger leaves his fate in limbo.
Episode 7 of Apple TV+'s post-apocalyptic sci-fi series Pluribus drops the niceties and throws Manousos into a brutal survival spiral. It is a tense, messy hour that ends on a big question mark, and yes, the show absolutely wants you sweating it out until next week.
What goes down in 'The Gap'
Manousos is trying to reach Carol. The plan is simple; the road is not. He heads into the Darién Gap, which is basically Mother Nature's 'turn back now' sign written in rainforest.
- His car taps out when the terrain gets too dense, so he proceeds on foot.
- A group calling themselves The Others (no, not those Others) intercepts him and warns him off. Their pitch is blunt: out here, even a tiny scratch can turn into a nasty infection.
- He ignores the advice and pushes deeper into the jungle.
- He slips on a wet rock and bashes himself up, then gets raked by the spines of a Chunga palm. Those spikes carry bacteria. Not ideal.
- In full DIY survival mode, he heats his hatchet in a fire and tries to cauterize the wound to stop the infection.
- It does not take. His condition keeps deteriorating. Infection and exhaustion pile up.
- He collapses. The Others eventually find him again, and rescue teams arrive by helicopter.
So... does Manousos make it?
As of the end of Episode 7, the show does not say. The chopper rescue gives him a shot, but we do not see a hospital, a recovery, or anything that counts as closure. The episode deliberately leaves his fate hanging.
Quick note on the Carol/Carlos confusion
The episode frames Manousos's goal as getting to Carol. Some chatter out there mentions Carlos near the end, which reads like a typo. Until the show tells us otherwise, assume it is Carol he is trying to reach.
When do we get answers?
Pluribus returns with its next episode on December 18, 2025, on Apple TV+.
