Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2: Meet Every God, Demigod, and Monster — Who Is Who in Disney’s Epic Return
Percy Jackson and the Olympians surges back for Season 2, plunging into The Sea of Monsters with a bigger pantheon, nastier creatures, and a raft of new demigods. Fan-favorite heroes return, fresh faces join the quest—here’s who’s sailing into the storm.
Season 2 of Disney+ Percy Jackson and the Olympians is going bigger, messier, and a little meaner. We are diving into Rick Riordan's The Sea of Monsters, which means new gods, new monsters, and some complicated family drama. The show also isn't locked to Percy's first-person POV like the books, so expect more cutaways to what other characters are scheming while our kid of Poseidon is out there getting drenched.
What the new season is actually about
The protective border around Camp Half-Blood gets compromised, which is bad news for everyone with a cabin and a bead necklace. Percy has to sail into the Sea of Monsters to find two things: his best friend Grover and the Golden Fleece, which can heal the camp. He won't be alone — Annabeth, Clarisse, and Percy's newly discovered Cyclops half-brother Tyson are in the mix. The bigger problem? Luke is still playing villain, and he's working to help the Titan Kronos tear down Camp Half-Blood and, if they get that far, Olympus itself.
Riordan has been teasing that Season 2 is less about monsters and more about choices (via Collider), so expect the emotional hits to land alongside the harpy attacks.
The expanded roster (and who is playing who)
- Walker Scobell - Percy Jackson: Demigod son of Poseidon and our main trouble magnet.
- Leah Sava Jeffries - Annabeth Chase: Daughter of Athena and the group's strategist.
- Aryan Simhadri - Grover Underwood: Satyr, best friend, and permanent worrier.
- Charlie Bushnell - Luke Castellan: Son of Hermes with loyalties that only get messier.
- Dior Goodjohn - Clarisse La Rue: Ares kid, Camp Half-Blood bruiser, and proud of it.
- Toby Stephens - Poseidon: God of the Sea, also Percy’s dad. One of the Big Three.
- Virginia Kull - Sally Jackson: Percy's mortal mom and the show's steady heart.
- Glynn Turman - Chiron (Mr. Brunner): Centaur and activities director... when he isn't missing.
- Jason Mantzoukas - Dionysus (Mr. D): God of Wine and current director of Camp Half-Blood.
- Lin-Manuel Miranda - Hermes: Messenger god, popping in as a guest star.
- Adam Copeland - Ares: God of War, returning to make things difficult (guest star).
- Daniel Diemer - Tyson: Percy's Cyclops half-brother and new ally.
- Tamara Smart - Thalia Grace: Daughter of Zeus with game-changing power.
- Andra Day - Athena: Goddess of Wisdom and Annabeth's mom.
- Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, Margaret Cho - The Gray Sisters: The trio who share one eye and one tooth. You read that right.
- Timothy Simons - Tantalus: Temporarily running Camp Half-Blood while Chiron is MIA. What could go wrong.
- Courtney B. Vance - Zeus: God of Lightning and the Skies, stepping in after Lance Reddick's passing.
How the character mix-ups get interesting
With new faces colliding with old grudges, the show is leaning into odd pairings and frenemy dynamics. Riordan told The Nerds of Color he's very into throwing unexpected characters together just to see what happens, and he even teases threads already brewing for Season 3 — including Nico and Bianca di Angelo joining the party. Yes, that is a little forward-looking for a Season 2 tease, but it tells you how much they're thinking about the bigger canvas.
'I think you could just pick any two characters and throw them together, and that would be interesting to me. I would love to see that done. Which ones that might be, at what point, I don't know. I mean, I can tell you that there are already some happening in season three.
I can't spoil too much, but you're going to see more of the characters along with our new friends, Nico and Bianca di Angelo, who are incredible actors too, and just the dynamics of all of them is really, really fun to see.'
Between the Sea of Monsters quest, a recast Zeus, and the camp being run by Tantalus while Chiron is gone, this season is stacking the deck for bigger stakes, sharper choices, and some chaotic family business.
