Outlander Gave Us Its Sexiest Scene All the Way Back in Season 3

The historical, time-traveling romance series may be in its 7th season, but we couldn't resist turning back time to revisit season 3, which still comes in first place for the steamiest, most intimate scene of the entire series (so far).

Season 2 ends in tragedy for our favorite lovers, as Jamie sends a pregnant Claire back to her time for her safety, and goes off to fight in the Battle of Culloden. We don't know if Jamie will survive, or if they will ever reunite, which makes their reunion in season 3 that much sweeter.

After 20 years, there's a lot of missed life to catch up on and things to talk about. Claire shows Jamie pictures of their daughter, Brianna, and learns about Jamie's son, William. The catch-up is sweet, but has everyone on the edge of their seats, secretly waiting for the 'action.'

With fans' anticipation at an all-time high, the Outlander writers did an exceptional job in meticulously drawing out and delaying the time before Jamie and Claire's 'physical' reunion, with a fan describing it as 'the longest drawn out pre-sex scene I have ever witnessed but I was TOTALLY okay with it.'

Another fan described the build-up to the moment as, 'mesmerizing to watch.' Claire and Jamie had been apart for so long, but there was still a familiarness between them, as they tentatively touched each other and began to move to something more.

Finally, the scene everyone had been waiting for, and it was well worth the wait as Claire told Jamie: 'Do it now, and don't be gentle.'

The sex scene between Jamie and Claire was shy and awkward at first, a fan highlighted one of these moments as: 'That tiny giggle they interchange, as she turns around and he undoes her dress, just like on the first night of their honeymoon, is the meaning of life on earth.'

But the rest of the experience had fans on the edge of their seats and blushing hard. Their physical reunion was slow, steamy, and full of raw emotion

Of course, we can't forget to mention Jamie hitting Claire (and flustered fans) with the line:

'I have burned for you for so long, do you not know that?'

The 6th episode of the 3rd season titled A. Malcolm, unsurprisingly set the internet ablaze. Fans flocked to Twitter sharing fainting memes and GIFs of people viciously fanning themselves following the episode.

Outlander season 7 came out on June 16 this year, and we're yet to see another scene that is as sexy as Jamie and Claire's sweet, passionate physical reunion after 20 years, but we will have to wait and see.

The next episode of Outlander is set to premiere on June 30, 2023.
