All good things come to an end, and it’s time for Outlander to go.

When Outlander first premiered in 2014, it was like a breath of fresh air in the world of television, and the show quickly became a fan favorite.

The historical drama has been praised by viewers and critics alike, and not just for its stunning visuals and compelling characters, but also for its unique concept.

However, it seems the show has finally lost its spark. For years, fans have eagerly awaited each new season, yet the most recent installments haven't lived up to the show's earlier successes. As much as we hate to say it, could it be time to pull the plug?

The story of Claire Fraser, a 20th-century nurse who finds herself transported back in time to 18th-century Scotland, is thrilling and romantic, no doubt. Fans fell in love with her and her dashing warrior husband, Jamie Fraser, and enthusiastically followed their adventures through time and space.

But as the show has progressed, it seems that it started to lack the magic that made it special in the first place, and there are a number of reasons why.

Firstly, the once-gritty storylines and character arcs have lost their intensity and depth, and many find that the show has become excessively violent, with graphic scenes that seem to serve no purpose other than shock value.

In the show’s earlier days, there was also more cheerfulness, whereas lately, the series is all doom and gloom, leaving many of us longing for the good times to come back.

Secondly, there's one very crucial element that's not portrayed accurately - Jamie and Claire's home, Fraser's Ridge.

For one, many are puzzled about the fact that the characters are living in luxurious surroundings when the show is set in the wild mountains. What’s more, the exterior of the house resembles a modern-day home, and the bright paint and contemporary-looking furniture inside make it look so out of place that it has, in fact, thrown many viewers off.

And last but not least, fans miss Scotland. Moving the show's setting to America made the series lose a lot of its original appeal.

Scotland and its rich history are what really caught the attention of audiences and made them want to dive deeper into the world of Outlander.

There's no doubt that the series has had a great run, but it's clear that something’s missing. Unless the showrunners manage to bring the show back to life with the upcoming season, they may risk tarnishing its legacy by dragging it out the way it is right now.
