Love has to outrun mercenaries, betrayal, and the iron grip of the 18th century as Outlander: Blood of My Blood barrels toward its Season 1 finale, Something Borrowed, premiering October 10, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Starz—after a patience-testing wait for fans.

Heads up, Outlander people: the prequel is barreling into its Season 1 finish line with an episode that cares way more about survival than swooning. The finale of Outlander: Blood of My Blood is called 'Something Borrowed,' and it lands Friday, October 10, 2025 at 8:00 PM ET on Starz. Expect heartbreak, a lot of running, and at least one decision that will make you yell at your TV.

When and where to watch

After nine straight Friday nights since August 8, the show pauses before the finale. The wording around the gap has been messy: some promo notes call it a skip-week, others make it sound like a two-week wait after Episode 9. Where Episode 9 left everyone (and why it matters)

One gathering at Braemar basically kicked over the table. Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser finally found each other again at the Earl of Mar's tynchal (think: nobles playing Highland hunting party), and it was sweet for about five minutes. Then Colum, tipped off by Dougal, threatened Brian's life. Ellen chose family survival over romance and cut Brian loose to keep him breathing. Brutal, but very MacKenzie of her.

It got uglier fast: Brian turned into a moving target for the Gallowglass, hired blades sent to make sure he stopped being a problem. He lived to brood another day thanks to Murtagh's well-timed rescue, but the preview makes it clear the hunt is not over. There’s a not-so-subtle hint that whoever paid those mercenaries might be closer to the family tree than anyone wants to admit. Inside baseball note: if you’re not up on your Highland vocabulary, 'Gallowglass' are mercenaries and 'tynchal' is the organized hunt — the show is leaning into the period detail here.

What the finale is actually playing for

This closer is less about sweeping declarations and more about getting out alive:

- Julia and Henry Beauchamp are quietly piecing together an escape plan with Ned Gowan's help, baby in tow. Complication: Seema — who had a fling with Henry during one of his post-trauma spirals — overhears the plan. Whether she moves out of hurt, anger, or something messier, her next step could blow the whole thing.

- Lord Lovat still thinks Julia's child might be his, which is... a nightmare, legally and otherwise.

- Ellen is being steered toward marrying Malcolm Grant. If you’re wondering whether Brian (played by Jamie Roy) tries to upend that, you are not alone. But duels, clan politics, and mercenaries do not mix well.

Everything points to a finale about sacrifice and consequence. Expect Brian fighting for his life (again), expect Julia and Henry's getaway to wobble, and expect at least one final reveal that ties the mercenary mess back to someone we know. And because this is a prequel to the Jamie-and-Claire saga, the show is clearly closing the book on the origin-story phase for the Frasers and the Beauchamps rather than handing out tidy happy endings.
