Outer Banks Star Lilah Pate Breaks Silence on Allegations Against Her Father
Breaking her silence, Outer Banks star Lilah Pate defends her father and series creator Jonas Pate as on-set misconduct allegations linger months after he was accused of screaming at and shaking a female production assistant during filming.
Outer Banks has had a rough off-season. Months after reports surfaced that executive producer and co-creator Jonas Pate allegedly screamed at and shook a production assistant during filming, his daughter - and cast member - Lilah Pate just weighed in. It is exactly the kind of awkward family-meets-work moment you think it is.
The allegations, at a glance
- An October 22, 2025 report alleged Jonas Pate got physical with a female PA on set, screaming at her and shaking her by the shoulders.
- The alleged incident happened during production on Season 5 - which is also the show’s final season.
- TMZ said tensions were high when it went down, and star Chase Stokes reportedly stepped in and stopped it.
What Lilah Pate said (and how she said it)
Lilah Pate, who plays Peeler on Outer Banks and is Jonas Pate’s daughter, posted a TikTok from the final day of shooting Season 5, showing her dad wrapping production. In the comments, someone asked if her father yells at her the way he allegedly yelled at the crew member. Her reply was short and pointed:
"Don’t believe everything you see online."
That’s the first time she has publicly addressed the situation in any clear way. It reads as her backing her dad. Not exactly surprising: beyond Outer Banks, she has worked with him before on The Runarounds and has praised his work in the past.
Where the show stands
Season 5 is in the can and will close out the series. Netflix is targeting a 2026 premiere for the final run. If you need a refresher, Seasons 1 through 4 are streaming now.
