Original Ahsoka Tano Actor Wants A Star Wars Animated Movie To Fill The Massive Clone Wars–Ahsoka Series Gap

Ashley Eckstein teases the journey isn’t over — there are still so many stories left to tell.
Ahsoka fans, we might have something to root for. Ashley Eckstein — the original animated voice of Ahsoka Tano — says she wants an animated Ahsoka movie that bridges the years between The Clone Wars and the live-action Ahsoka series. That is a big, empty stretch of timeline, and honestly, animation is where Ahsoka was born and raised, so this tracks.
What Eckstein is asking for
"I would love to have an animated Ahsoka movie at some point... There is so much more for me personally that I would like to do with Ahsoka."
She also flagged the obvious: there is still a lot of story sitting between the end of The Clone Wars and where the live-action show picks up, and she encouraged fans to speak up if they want to see it.
The gap, in plain English
Here is why Eckstein is not wrong about the timing making sense:
- Ashley Eckstein has voiced Ahsoka since The Clone Wars launched in 2008.
- The Clone Wars ran for seven seasons and wrapped in 2020. In-universe, that series spans 22 BBY to 19 BBY.
- Disney Plus rolled out the live-action Ahsoka in 2023, set shortly after her appearances in The Mandalorian season 3 and The Book of Boba Fett.
- That puts the live-action timeline roughly three decades after the events covered in The Clone Wars.
- The Clone Wars is canon, so anything that fills in those missing years is fair game to slot into the official story.
Why an animated one-off would hit
Animation is where Ahsoka and Anakin’s bond really lived, and a movie set in that middle period could bring back that dynamic without breaking timeline math. And yes, I will always sign up for more of them together — the 'Snips' and 'Sky Guy' banter still works.
What happens next
No studio announcement here — just Eckstein saying the desire is there and telling fans to say so if they want it too. Ahsoka season 2 does not have a release date yet, so if Lucasfilm wants to plug a gap and make fans happy in the meantime, an animated bridge feels like a pretty clean swing.
