Genoa City weddings rarely go off without a hitch, and Cricket and Danny’s long-awaited walk down the aisle may be the next to explode. An uninvited guest threatens to crash The Young and the Restless celebration just as the vows begin.
Cricket and Danny are finally circling back to the romance that got away, and yes, the wedding is on. But this is Genoa City. Nothing stays quiet for long, and there is one very loud variable with a history: Phyllis.
The Phyllis factor
If anyone can turn a vow exchange into a five-alarm fire, it is Phyllis Summers. The couple is basically correcting one of the biggest wrongs in their past — the mess from years ago when Phyllis convinced Danny he was Daniel's father. So the possibility of her showing up and taking another swing at their happiness is absolutely in the air.
Even Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis, tossed some fuel on the speculation with a cheeky Instagram tease:
"I'm not sure Phyllis is tho ..."
This is not coming out of nowhere
Earlier this year, Cricket pulled Daniel aside and asked him, as nicely as possible, to keep his mom from stirring the pot. That did not stick. Phyllis already popped in on both ends of the pre-wedding festivities — she crashed Danny's bachelor party and Cricket's bachelorette night — then offered an apology after the fact. Cute, but a quick 'sorry' does not erase decades of jealous sniping and old wounds between Phyllis and Christine.

So... are we getting an uninvited guest?
Everyone in town is bracing for it, and honestly, they are not wrong to be nervous. Even with years of attempted truces, the history between Phyllis and Cricket never really cooled, and Phyllis knows exactly where to poke. If the past is any indicator, people in Genoa City do not suddenly change just because the florist delivered the centerpieces on time.
