The odds are a female contestant will take $1 million home again.

As often as not, reality TV stirs controversy. Most of the time, viewers question how 'real' a series is, with many people obstinately thinking that everything on television is scripted. One of the most spectacular and longest-running reality shows, Survivor is also falling under suspicion.

The most recent Episode 11 came out on May 10. One more participant, Danny Massa, was eliminated, and there are now six castaways left to contend for the cash prize of $1 million and the title of Sole Survivor.

With only two episodes left to air, we can expect that the competition will get pretty tough, and many fans now suspect that a female contestant will win the season once again.

If you're a long-time fan of the show, you may know that the ratio between male and female winners of Survivor is 26 to 17, and that women won two out of three post-Covid seasons. Now, considering that only two of the remaining six contestants are men, chances are we'll have a female winner again this season!

Carolyn Wiger, Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, Lauren Harpe and Jaime Lynn Ruiz make fierce competition for Carson Garrett and Yamil Arocho, outnumbering them twofold. Mathematically speaking, this means that a female castaway is two times more likely to take home the cash prize in Season 44.

Of course, this makes it look like this season's outcome is predictable, but in fact, we still can't safely say that a woman is going to win the competition this time. While Carolyn does top the list of Survivor 44's winner predictions, she is followed directly by Carson, a fellow Tika tribe member.

If the show is so heavily scripted, it may be that the producers are aiming to balance out the male to female winners ratio — but we do hope that what's happening on screen is mostly genuine.

Whoever makes it to the finale, fans hope it's going to be an exciting spectacle to watch. And there's still one more episode left before that — Episode 12 of Survivor 44 will air on CBS on May 17.
