Animated movies teach us important and valuable lessons about good and evil from an early age, and the best of them also develop good taste in music – after all, animated films often feature talented musicians who can complement the visual component with their audio magic.

1. Arlo the Alligator Boy, 2021

Arlo was born with an unusual appearance, so he was sent to the sewers under the city, and the water carried him far away to the swamp.

There he was cared for by a kind woman named Edmee, but as a teenager, Arlo began to wonder about his real father from New York and eventually decided to go looking for him.

Throughout his life, Alligator Boy has been ashamed of his appearance and sure that no one would want to be friends with him, but on his journey he finds many loyal friends and learns to explore the world with them.

2. A Monster in Paris, 2011

1910, Paris. Humble projectionist Emile and his friend, courier and inventor Raoul, end up in a scientist's laboratory and accidentally create a giant monster.

Now they must capture the creature before it terrorizes the entire city. The friends are joined by cabaret singer Lucille and a mad scientist. Together they begin an exciting journey through Paris to catch a giant flea that sings.

A Monster in Paris is the third animated film by French director Bibo Bergeron, known for his work on The Road to El Dorado and Shark Tale. The movie was produced by Luc Besson, who likes to experiment with genres.

3. Encanto, 2021

The Madrigal family is known for their unusual abilities: Dolores has extraordinary hearing, Isabela creates amazing flowers, Luisa is incredibly strong, and Bruno... We can't talk about him.

Only Mirabel has no gift, which she has come to terms with, but she still gets sad from time to time. The strength of the Madrigal family comes from their house, the Casita, which appeared thanks to Grandma Alma, the keeper of the hearth and the magic.

Suddenly, Mirabel finds a prophecy that their house will soon be destroyed, and she herself is somehow connected to it.

4. Song of the Sea, 2014

Lighthouse keeper Conor falls in love with a beautiful Selkie named Bronagh, and they have two children: a boy, Ben, and a girl, Saoirse.

After the birth of his daughter, Bronagh leaves the family and disappears at sea, leaving Conor to raise the children alone. When Saoirse turns six, the family learns that she is also a Selkie, and the terrified father sends the children away from the lighthouse to live with their grandmother in the city.

But Ben longs to return home, and Saoirse is drawn to the call of the sea, so the brother and sister set out on an adventure to find themselves.
