Roy Kent will never be the same after Episode 8.

As Ted Lasso is coming to an end very soon, with only three episodes left to air, its main characters are expected to evolve into the best versions of themselves.

Roy Kent has been arguably the most interesting character on the show — he is funny, smart, a little bit of a grump but very responsible, and has what it takes to be a leader.

Perhaps, it has to do with the fact that Brett Goldstein who plays him is also a writer on Ted Lasso, so he knows how to properly develop a character. It is no wonder then that Roy is so many fans' favorite. It seems, however, that one of the recent episodes, 'We'll Never Have Paris,' destroyed him completely.

As you may know, Episode 8 of the third season sees Keeley Jones dealing with the aftermath of Jamie's phone hacking and resulting leak of a private video she sent him when they were dating. Apart from being a blow to her personal reputation, that is also a major scandal for her PR firm — so much so that Jack, an investor and Keeley's girlfriend, makes her issue an apology statement even though she has nothing to do with the leak and is actually the victim in this situation.

It is during that gloomy moment that Roy pays her a visit. The two had a serious relationship in the past but amicably ended it. Naturally, you would expect Roy to have come to support Keeley, but instead, he asks whom the video was intended to. This break of character has shocked both Keeley but the audience, as Roy's question clearly stemmed out of his jealousy and hurt ego, outweighing his usual good-guy attitude.

Although it isn't yet the end of the show and things can still get straight between Roy and Keeley — and they even may end up together in the finale — we'll never see him the same again. Unfortunately, the damage to his reputation in fans' eyes is irreparable, and to many of us, this is a sign that his and Keeley's breakup was a good thing after all.

Episode 10 of Ted Lasso Season 3 will arrive on Apple TV+ on May 17.
