A24 beat out major streamers and networks to nab the rights to Dylan Brady’s erotic thriller series, with Nicole Kidman in talks to star, Deadline reports.

A24 just scooped up a spicy new series after a studio-and-streamer pileup, and Nicole Kidman is circling the lead. Yes, A24 plus Kidman plus an erotic thriller is exactly the energy it sounds like.

What A24 just bought

The company won a competitive bidding war for a TV series based on a spec script by writer-actor Dylan Brady. Kidman is in talks to star, which would mark a fresh reunion with the studio after she fronted 2024's A24 feature Babygirl opposite Harris Dickinson.

The show was originally titled 'Discretion,' but the plan is to retitle it so it does not clash with Kidman's separate Paramount+ series with Elle Fanning, which uses the same name. File that under the fun chaos of having two projects called the exact same thing at the same time.

The hook

Brady's script landed at No. 2 on the 2025 Brit List, which spotlights unproduced screenplays from Britain and Ireland (think the U.K.-Ireland counterpart to the Black List). The story follows a struggling actor who accepts a nanny job working for a high-flying producer and her movie-star husband. He plans to seduce his employers and leverage their connections to jump-start his own career. Instead, he steps into something far more dangerous and finds the power dynamics turning on him.

Brady has called the piece a Fatal Attraction riff with a twist, inspired by a real friend's messy run-in with a powerful couple after getting hired as a helper. He also made the genre pivot feel current and pointed:

"Erotic thrillers have historically always been very heterosexual, and it's the marital unit that is the hero that has to be preserved at all costs from an evil slut, who threatens that unity."

"I thought about what this looks like in 2025. What if the slut is the hero and there is something rotten in the marriage? I wanted to break form and put a queer lens on it."

The creator

Brady is a British actor and writer whose resume has a very working-pro feel, with a few credits that might make you do a double take:

  • Acting: Get Even, The A List, Coronation Street, Ralph & Katie, and Andor Season 2
  • Writing: one episode of Netflix's coming-of-age drama Everything Now

Where this goes next

The deal is done on the script, A24 is in the driver's seat, and the series will get a new title before cameras roll. Kidman is in active talks; expect more casting news once the name is locked and schedules align. Given the package, this one feels like it will move quickly.
