Nick Cannon Makes the Cringiest Joke About Taylor Swift's Breakup
His borderline disgusting remark had the Swifties outraged.
News of Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn's split broke just a few days ago, but the superstar already has numerous suitors lining up. One of those suitors is apparently Nick Cannon, who made dubious remarks about Swift's breakup during an interview on The Howard Stern Show on Monday. Stern asked the rapper-comedian if he had heard of the latest update in Swift's personal life, and Cannon quickly confirmed his knowledge.
'My Spidey senses was tingling,' Cannon said and went on to explain why he thought he and Taylor would make a good match.
Cannon told Stern that both he and Swift had dated numerous celebrities in the past, which would allow them to find common ground if they were to date. He also praised Swift's songwriting talent, openness, and ability to translate her relationship experiences into her songs.
The pop culture icon has a long history of dating. In addition to Alwyn, Taylor has been involved with big names like Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, Calvin Harris, and Tom Hiddleston.
Most of her relationships have been relatively short-lived but immortalised in her songs, many of which have become huge hits.
A hit record is not the worst thing that can come out of a failed relationship, but some people believe it's time for the pop star to gain something more tangible from her partners, like children. And that's where the cringe-worthy part of Cannon's interview comes in. When Stern asked him if he would have a child with Swift, the comedian made one of the worst jokes of his career.
'Absolutely. I'm in. Let's go. That's the one. I'm all in!' he exclaimed.
The question was clearly related to Cannon's dating history, who, unlike Swift, has had a child in nearly every relationship he has been in.
Speaking of numbers, he has 12 children with six former partners: DJ Abby De La Rosa, models Brittany Bell, Lanisha Cole, Bre Tiesi, Alyssa Scott, and superstar Mariah Carey.
Apparently, the rapper is not planning to stop having children and is willing to father Taylor Swift's potential child, but he seems to have forgotten to ask her first.
