The plot revolves around a girl named Matilda. The child's life is not so easy. Her parents show no special feelings for their daughter and do not really understand her in general, and the strict and frightening headmistress Trunchbull is in charge of the school.
The only person Matilda finds support and understanding from is her teacher Miss Honey. The girl becomes close to her and even helps her favorite teacher with her personal problems.
2. 8-Bit Christmas, 2021
A nostalgic comedy starring Neil Patrick Harris. His character, Jake, tells his daughter, who dreams of getting a new smartphone for Christmas, a story from his childhood, which took place in the late 80s.
The movie has a huge number of nostalgic details, from the musical score to the NES game console, for which the main character came up with a complex plan.
3. Red One, 2024
Unexpectedly, Santa Claus disappears on Christmas Eve. It soon turns out that the fan of red clothes has been kidnapped by mysterious forces. Santa's security chief, played by Dwayne Johnson, decides to save the holiday.
The comedy action movie with a not very modest budget of $250 million can hardly be called a movie for the ages, but if you want more holiday spirit, then Red One is your choice.
4. Love Hard, 2021
Natalie writes a newspaper column in which she describes the unsuccessful dates she goes on thanks to dating apps. One day, the Los Angeles resident decides to expand her search filter and meets a guy named Josh Lin from upstate New York.
Before Christmas, the girl decides to visit her new pen pal's hometown to surprise him. During her adventure, the woman is no less surprised than Josh, who has created a fake account using a photo of his friend.
5. Holidate, 2020
The Netflix romantic comedy revolves around a young woman named Sloane, played by Emma Roberts. The woman, who lives in Chicago, doesn't particularly like the winter holidays. Sloane is facing judgment because this Christmas she is the last single member of her family.
One day, Sloane meets Jackson, an Australian who is also not looking for a serious relationship. The couple decides to spend the holidays together, without any romantic commitment. But, as is always the case, something goes horribly wrong.
