Some of these will shock you.

Sometimes it can be surprising to find out that an actor is much older or younger than his character.

So, as One Piece conquers the world, let's take a look at how old the actors are compared to their on-screen counterparts (after the time jump):

Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy Jasso)

Also known as 'Straw Hat Luffy', Monkey is the leader of the Straw Hat Pirates and is desperate to become the Pirate King. A skilled fighter, his body took on strange rubber-like qualities when he ate a Gomu Gomu no Mi fruit at the age of 8.

Straw Hat is 19 and is played by Iñaki Godoy Jasso, who is 20. Born in Mexico, Jasso began acting in his native country as a teenager.

Nami (Emily Rudd)

Nami is a skilled thief based on Ann and Silk from the manga Romance Dawn. Once in the service of Arlong, after being freed, she joined the Straw Hat Pirates and is now the ship’s navigator.

The character is 20 years old, but is played by Emily Rudd, who is in fact 30 years old and has appeared in several shows, including four episodes of Dynasty.

Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu)

At the age of 21, Zoro aspires to be the best swordsman in the world. Already an accomplished fighter, he was formerly a bounty hunter and has mastered the "Three Swords Style" of combat, which he hopes will propel him to greatness.

Zoro is played by one of the industry's rising stars, American-Japanese actor Mackenyu, who is 26 years old in real life.

Sanji (Taz Skylar)

Sanji grew up under the watchful eye of his father, who wanted his son to be a soldier. Not wanting to follow that path, Sanji ran away to Baratie. There he met Red Leg Zeff, who taught him how to be a cook and how to practice martial arts.

Played by 27-year-old Taz Skylar, Sanji is 21 in the show. Skylar, who began his acting career in 2015, has appeared in a number of television and film roles, including opposite Stephen Graham in Boiling Point.

Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson)

Usopp is eager to show his pirate father that he is the fear of the high seas. A cunning strategist, he is fiercely loyal to his shipmates - even if he can be a bit much for them at times.

Only 19 years old, Usopp is played by 30-year-old Jacob Romero Gibson, who has also appeared on Grey's Anatomy and Greenleaf.

Koby (Morgan Davies)

The first person to meet Straw Hat Luffy on his journey to become Pirate King, Koby is a chore boy turned captain who has mastered the Six Powers skill Shave and uses the Color of Observation Haki.

Aged 18, Koby is played by 21-year-old Morgan Davies, who made his screen debut at the age of 7 in Green Fire Envy.
