Netflix is already booking another stay at Haunted Hotel, renewing Matt Roller's adult animated horror-comedy for Season 2 just a week after its Sept. 19 premiere.

Netflix did not waste time. One week after dropping Matt Roller’s new animated comedy-horror 'Haunted Hotel' on Friday, September 19, 2025, the streamer has already ordered Season 2. Fast, even by Netflix standards.

So what is 'Haunted Hotel'?

It’s an adult animated comedy with a sharp horror streak. The hook: a single mom of two is trying to keep a haunted hotel afloat, and her estranged brother is now one of the resident ghosts. He’s surprisingly enthusiastic about the place and thinks the other ghosts actually have some decent management ideas. It’s messy family dynamics, hospitality chaos, and supernatural weirdness all crammed into the Undervale Hotel.

If you’re wondering why the instant renewal, the pedigree is stacked. Titmouse is making it, and the EP bench includes Roller, Dan Harmon, and Chris McKenna, among others. Netflix clearly likes what it’s seeing after week one.

"I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel," Roller said via Netflix Tudum.

"Haunted Hotel is wildly inventive, and I’m very grateful to Matt, Chris, Dan, and their team for bringing their talents to Netflix. They are phenomenal collaborators, and I can’t wait for fans all over the world to experience this hilarious show," said Netflix's Billy Wee.

Bottom line: quick greenlight, strong creative team, and a premise that lets the show bounce between gags and ghoul-y set pieces. Season 2 is a go; we just don’t have a date yet.
