Netflix just nabbed the first season of AMC’s fan-favorite supernatural saga — a perfect binge while season 2 readies for a December 25, 2025 debut on AMC+. Which fantasy phenom made the jump?

Netflix just picked up a spooky little gem from AMC. If Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale flew under your radar the first time, you now have zero excuses.

Season 1 just landed on Netflix

As of today, all seven episodes of Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale Season 1 are streaming on Netflix. The timing is interesting: AMC renewed the show for a second season more than a year ago, and that next chapter is scheduled to drop on December 25, 2025 on AMC+. So yes, Season 2 is a Christmas Day 2025 situation. Long wait, but this Netflix move should help more people actually find the show before then.

What is this thing?

'Witchcraft is real.'

Sanctuary takes place in a present-day English town where witches are not hiding in the shadows; they have been openly part of the community for centuries. Sarah Fenn is the local witch people turn to when normal fixes fail. Then a local teen rugby star, Dan Whithall, dies in what looks like an accident, and the town’s goodwill curdles into suspicion aimed at Sarah and her daughter, Harper. It is small-town morality play meets supernatural thriller, and the vibe gets messy fast.

Who made it and who is in it

  • Based on: V.V. James's 2020 novel 'Sanctuary: A Novel of Suspense, Witchcraft, and Small Town Secrets'
  • Created and written by: Debbie Horsfield
  • Showrunner: Susie Conklin (always fun when the creator and the showrunner are different people; you can sometimes feel the collaboration on screen)
  • Season 1 cast: Elaine Cassidy, Amy de Bhrun, Hazel Doupe, Stephanie Levi-John, Valerie O'Connor, Kelly Campbell, Stephen Lord
  • Executive producers: Monumental Television; Alison Owen; Debra Hayward; Amira El Nemr; Alison Carpenter; Jill Forbes; Susie Conklin; V.V. James; Guymon Cassady; Debbie Horsfield

The rollout, in plain English

Season 1 is bingeable on Netflix right now. Season 2 is already a go, but you will be waiting until December 25, 2025 to watch it on AMC+. Oddly spaced? Yeah. Smart play to let Netflix grow the audience in the meantime? Also yes.
