NCIS Just Dropped The Date For Its First Crossover With NCIS: Origins

The reveal came with a slick teaser that already has viewers speculating on how the old and new timelines will collide.
NCIS is about to do something it has literally never done before: the main show is linking up with its own prequel, NCIS: Origins, for a two-hour crossover. Timey-wimey, but make it procedural.
CBS announced the event for Tuesday, Nov. 11, with the night kicking off on NCIS: Origins at 8/7c. It is the first time the flagship NCIS has crossed paths with Origins.
On the Origins hour, Gibbs and his early-days team look into a small-town death tied to the Navy. From there, the crossover continues into NCIS to round out the two-hour run.
- When: Tuesday, Nov. 11
- Where: CBS
- How long: Two hours
- Why it is a big deal: First-ever crossover between NCIS and its prequel, NCIS: Origins
- Kickoff: NCIS: Origins at 8/7c, with Gibbs and team probing a small-town death connected to the Navy
It is a rare present-meets-past setup for this franchise, and yes, it is a little inside baseball to have the mothership rubbing elbows with its own prequel timeline. I am curious to see how they stitch the eras together without bending the rules too hard.
