My Hero Academia isn’t hanging up its cape after eight seasons — a new episode is confirmed for next year to celebrate the anime’s 10th anniversary.

If you thought My Hero Academia was done after eight seasons, not quite. The anime is getting one more episode to mark its 10th anniversary, and it is not a recap or a clip show. It is a real story beat taken straight from the manga.

The extra episode

The special episode is titled 'More' and lands May 2, 2026. It will stream globally on Crunchyroll, except in Asia. It adapts chapter 431 of the manga — the bonus chapter tucked into the final volume — and jumps the story eight years past when Izuku Midoriya and his U.A. classmates graduated. So yes, this is a future-set epilogue-style check-in, and yes, that timing is very on-brand for an anniversary flex.

Why now?

Because the anime hits a decade on April 3, 2026. The show first premiered April 3, 2016, two years after the manga started in Weekly Shonen Jump back in July 2014. The new episode is part of a bigger anniversary push officially labeled 'My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary,' which kicks off exactly on that April date.

The anniversary rollout

Toho used Jump Festa to debut the official 10th anniversary logo, plus a teaser visual and a new landing page that will serve as the hub for updates throughout 2026. The visual comes from Bones Films and is illustrated by longtime character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi; it tracks Deku’s evolution as a hero across ten distinct eras of the anime and manga. It is the kind of deep-cut timeline art fans love, and it is clearly made for this moment.

Live concert tour is happening too

On top of the episode, Toho announced the 'My Hero Academia in Concert World Tour.' It is a live show built around Yuki Hayashi’s score, synced to key scenes from the series for a full-on immersive performance. The tour opens May 30, 2026 at Pacifico Yokohama, with plans to expand to international stops after that.
