Previously on Episode 9

Episode 9 (Monday, October 27) picks up right where that cliffhanger with the contract killer left off. In Muchang village, assassin Gil Ho-se ambushes Kim Yeong-ran and stabs Hye-ji. Jeon Dong-min jumps in, brawls with Ho-se, and the guy still slips away once the police show. With the village compromised, Yeong-ran bails out and tells Dong-min they need a new game plan. Then she goes big: back in Seoul, she holds a press conference, drops her real identity, and calls out Seon-yeong directly.

Meanwhile, things get messy in the most political way possible. Kim Gyo-bong stabs Seon-yeong and claims Yeong-ran hired him. Except no: it turns out So-young arranged the whole attack at Seon-yeong's request. Translation: Seon-yeong literally had her own side stage a hit on her to frame Yeong-ran.

On the personal front, Dong-min admits he missed Yeong-ran, and she shuts the door on that, pointing out that her Bu Se-mi cover persona has awakened a more ambitious, power-chasing version of herself that she is not exactly proud of.

What Episode 10 is setting up

The preview has Dong-min teaming up with the police to hunt down Gil Ho-se. Ho-se is still working for Seon-yeong and doing everything he can to slip the net while staying on mission. Expect a tense chase, plus the romance thread nudging forward. With only two episodes left after this, everything matters a little more than usual.
