At Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit on October 14, Markle talked about the creative and logistical lift behind the show. She even joked that the experience reminded her how much work goes into making TV, calling back to her 'Suits' days.
'It’s a year of learns. Eight episodes for two seasons - it’s a lot of work.'
As for near-term plans, she confirmed a holiday special is arriving in November and teased that it includes her walking through gift-wrapping techniques. She also stopped short of committing to Season 3, instead talking about experimenting with shorter, snackable content. Translation: yes, 30-minute episodes are nice, but she is thinking about how to deliver, say, a recipe in two minutes and where that kind of thing should live.
So what does that mean for Season 3?
Nothing official, but the vibe is very much we might pivot before we renew. When a creator starts talking about different formats and shorter run times, that is usually not a sign a full season is right around the corner.
