Mayor of Kingstown returns Sunday, October 26, 2025 on Paramount+, plunging Mike McLusky into his most perilous chapter yet. With the Russian mob off the board, rival crews surge and his grip on the city is tested by a ruthless new power broker, Nina Hobbs, played by The Sopranos alum Edie Falco.

Mayor of Kingstown is back this fall, and Mike McLusky is about to discover that the enemy you can see is a lot easier to handle than the one who runs the building. Season 4 swaps out last season's Russian mob menace for something thornier: a new power player inside the system who does not care that Mike thinks he runs this town.

The new problem: Warden Nina Hobbs

Enter Edie Falco (yep, The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie), playing Nina Hobbs, the new warden of Anchor Bay Prison. The trailer paints her as blunt, decisive, and not remotely interested in Mike's backchannel diplomacy. She is not another street rival; she is the institution.

"As you come into Season 4, how do you take a show to the next level? Well, you need a nemesis. You need someone who's going to come in and go toe-to-toe [with Mike.] She's making the decisions. She's calling the shots. It isn't Mike's world. It's her world, and we're going to watch this battle between the two of them."

Why this is a bigger mess for Mike

With the Russian mob no longer the main antagonist, new gangs are angling for space, and Mike's grip is slipping just as the rules of the game change. Falco's warden is likely to tighten oversight and shut down the "grey" workarounds Mike has lived on for three seasons. And this time, the emotional stakes are up: people Mike cares about are stuck in the middle of the chaos.

For what it's worth, I'm still betting on Jeremy Renner's Mike to survive. The man is a cockroach in the best TV sense: boxed in, bloodied, somehow still moving. But a win under Hobbs' reign probably costs him more than he's paid before.

Release plan and what to expect

  • Premiere date: Sunday, October 26, 2025, on Paramount+.
  • Episodes: 10 total.
  • Drop pattern: First two episodes premiere together on October 26; the rest roll out weekly.
  • Finale: Sunday, December 21, 2025.
  • Likely release time: Paramount+ has typically dropped new episodes at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET, though the exact time for Season 4 has not been officially confirmed.

Bottom line: Season 4 isn't just another round of gang chess and moral compromises. With Edie Falco's Nina Hobbs calling shots from inside the system, the show is aiming for a power struggle that's more strategic and way less predictable. Do you think Mike adapts, or does the institution finally break him?
