Grinding in Digimon Story: Time Stranger is over. One savvy purchase nets millions of EXP in minutes, fast-tracking your Digimon to max level and battlefield dominance.

If you want your Digimon hitting like freight trains instead of wet noodles, there is a very real, very fast way to do it. It is a little pay-to-skip, sure, but it turns the game into an EXP fountain. If you would rather keep your wallet shut, I have a few solid grind routes too. Here is the cleanest path to level 99 in Digimon Story: Time Stranger, without the usual mystery or menu-diving.

The paid turbo method (yes, it works immediately)

  • Buy the Outer Dungeons: The Halls of EXP, Gold, Materials add-on pack for $7.99 on your platform of choice.
  • Head to The In-Between Theatre and talk to Mirei Mikagura to open the Outer Dungeon Halls menu.
  • Choose The Hall of EXP (you will also see The Hall of Gold and The Hall of Materials, but we are here for raw levels).
  • Inside, the layout branches at intersections onto platforms with different Digimon enemy groups. Deeper paths mean tougher fights, and the EXP jumps fast.
  • Bring your best team, pick a platform, clear it, wait a few seconds, and clear it again. Enemies here respawn infinitely.
  • If you are new or under-geared, avoid high-tier mobs and boss nodes at first. The safer loops still pour out EXP.
  • As you push deeper, expect roughly 50,000 to 100,000 EXP per full clear. Keep cycling the same platform until you hit your target level (99 is the cap), and enjoy the bonus in-game currency that stacks along the way.

What this actually is under the hood

This hall is basically a legal EXP exploit built into a paid arena. It is segmented so you can tune the risk, and because enemies respawn forever with only a short delay, you can turn a few minutes of cleanup into millions of EXP. It is very inside baseball with the naming (The In-Between Theatre, Mirei Mikagura, etc.), but the flow is simple once you are in.

No spend? You can still grind smart

Side quests pull double duty: They are not just filler. Side quests hand out plenty of EXP and also unlock key combat systems like Agent Skills and Cross Arts. Those upgrades make future fights faster, which means more EXP per minute.

Use the base game respawn loop: Outside the DLC halls, enemies repopulate when you leave and reload an area. Hop zones, come back, and run the loop again. This also helps push a Digimon's Scan Rate up to 200%, if you are chasing that completion metric alongside levels.

Load Enhancement for targeted boosts: This is the sacrificial route: feed lower-tier Digimon to power up the one you actually want to use. It is not net new EXP for your roster, but it is a very effective way to rocket a favorite Digimon to 99 without waiting.

Bottom line

If you are cool spending $7.99, The Hall of EXP is the cleanest, lowest-friction path to max levels in minutes. If not, the vanilla game still lets you loop enemies, chain side quests, and use Load Enhancement to get the job done without touching your credit card.
