Marvel Zombies just shambled onto Disney+, and the MCU’s first R-rated animated series is already feasting on demand—fans want Season 2 now. Directed by Bryan Andrews and written by Zeb Wells, the four-episode run rocketed up trending charts as social feeds flooded with renewal pleas to Marvel Studios.

Marvel Zombies just dropped on Disney+, immediately shot up the trending charts, and now the timeline is doing what it does best: demanding a season 2 yesterday. It helps that the show is a tight four-episode blast with a very bold finale. Translation: people want more and they want it fast.

So, is season 2 actually happening?

Marvel isn’t saying yes yet, but they’re not being coy either. Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum told ComicBook.com that the door is open if the numbers are there.

"Please, like, people have got to subscribe to Disney+ and watch this show. If that happens, they will get more. And we are excited. We’re ready."

That’s about as clear as it gets. If the audience shows up, they’ll make more. They’ve got ideas and they’re itching to go.

The essentials

  • What it is: The MCU’s first adult-rated animated series (TV-MA), spinning out of the What If...? zombie universe
  • Format: 4 episodes
  • Premiere: September 24, 2025 on Disney+
  • Creative team: Directed by Bryan Andrews; written by Zeb Wells
  • Returning voice cast: Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, David Harbour
  • Notable first: The MCU’s first Blade appearance

Why fans are already yelling for season 2

Short version: it slaps. The action’s confident, the character matchups are the kind of crossover chaos people have been fantasy-booking for years, and the finale takes a big swing with a cliffhanger that basically dares Marvel to continue the story. A bunch of viewers singled out Scarlet Witch as straight-up terrifying and admitted the show even got them a little emotional. One fan called it a 10/10 and recommended watching the What If… Zombies?! episode first if you want the full context. Others are already posting wish lists for who they want to see if a second season happens. Nerds stay cooking.

Inside baseball

This one’s a bit of a unicorn for Marvel animation: TV-MA, only four episodes, and it expands a corner of the multiverse that started as a What If...? one-off. That’s rare territory for the MCU and probably why the reaction feels so loud: it’s new, it’s gnarly, and it moves. Also, Blade showing up here first? Did not have that on the 2025 bingo card.

Bottom line

Marvel Zombies is streaming now on Disney+. If you want a season 2, Marvel has made the math pretty simple: watch it, talk about it, and keep it trending. They’re ready if we are.
