Marvel Confirms Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Drop Date — Here’s When
Marvel has set the drop date for the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer, with the Russo Brothers’ blockbuster now in post-production and headed to U.S. theaters next year—Avengers: Secret Wars up next.
Marvel finally picked a lane with the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer, and yes, the plan is to hitch it to another giant blue juggernaut. Here is where and when to look for it, plus how it lines up with the MCU’s bigger calendar and the very loud Spider-Man 4 chatter.
So, when is the Doomsday trailer landing?
Per Collider, the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer is currently slated to play in theaters in front of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. That tracks with Marvel’s usual go-big-or-go-home strategy and the timing: Avatar: Fire and Ash opens December 19, 2025, and Doomsday is exactly one year behind it on December 19, 2026.
"The Avengers: Doomsday trailer will indeed be shown before James Cameron’s next Avatar movie, unless that decision could change over the next month."
Translation: this is the plan, but studios love a last-minute tweak. One thing we don’t know yet is whether the trailer will hit the internet the same day it plays in theaters. Sometimes Marvel does the dual drop, sometimes they let the theatrical crowd have first dibs.
Quick status check on the movie itself
Avengers: Doomsday is in post-production right now with Joe and Anthony Russo back behind the camera. Plot details are locked down for the moment, but this one is positioned as the big Phase 6 crossover play, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.
What about that Spider-Man 4 trailer?
This is where the release-calendar chess gets messy. There are rumblings that the first look at Spider-Man 4 — reportedly titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day — could also piggyback on Avatar: Fire and Ash. The wrinkle: Sony’s Spidey sequel is due in July 2026, roughly four and a half months before Doomsday. In other words, it makes sense for Sony to move sooner, but there is zero official word from Sony or Marvel yet. Keep the salt shaker handy.
The cast is stacked (and then some)
Marvel is loading Doomsday with a frankly wild roster across Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men corners. Here is everyone they are putting on the board so far:
- Chris Hemsworth as Thor
- Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman
- Anthony Mackie as Captain America
- Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier
- Letitia Wright as Black Panther
- Paul Rudd as Ant-Man
- Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent

- Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing
- Simu Liu as Shang-Chi
- Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova
- Kelsey Grammer as Beast
- Lewis Pullman as Sentry
- Danny Ramirez as Falcon
- Joseph Quinn as Human Torch
- David Harbour as Red Guardian
- Winston Duke as M'Baku
- Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost
- Tom Hiddleston as Loki
- Patrick Stewart as Professor X
- Ian McKellen as Magneto
- Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler
- Rebecca Romijn as Mystique
- James Marsden as Cyclops
- Channing Tatum as Gambit
- Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic
- Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom
The dates that matter
Avatar: Fire and Ash: December 19, 2025 (where the trailer is set to run)
Avengers: Doomsday: December 19, 2026 (Phase 6)
Avengers: Secret Wars: December 17, 2027
Bottom line: expect your first real look at Doomsday when you go see Cameron’s next Avatar this December — unless the studios blink in the next few weeks. And if Sony wants to steal a little thunder with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this is a pretty tidy moment to do it.
