Jessica Jones may be the next Netflix-era hero to stage a Disney+ comeback. With Krysten Ritter back in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Marvel streaming chief Brad Winderbaum is teasing that a long-delayed season 4 could finally be on the board.

Jessica Jones might be getting her own Disney+ comeback, and the teases are not exactly subtle. If you liked the Netflix era but always wanted a proper MCU follow-up, this is the one to keep an eye on.

So, is a new Jessica Jones series actually happening?

Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum (he runs streaming, TV, and animation) was asked on the Phase Hero podcast about when Jessica could get her own Disney+ revival now that she is back in the mix. His answer was short and cheeky, but pretty clear.

"Maybe sooner than you think."

Krysten Ritter popped into the same episode later and backed that up without giving anything away. She said there is still plenty to mine with Jessica now that the character is officially operating inside the MCU again.

"There is a lot of stuff I felt there was room to explore... and I am not going to say any of it, because we are going to be doing it."

Translation: they are talking about it, and it sounds active.

Where you will see her next

Ritter is already set to return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Marvel showed the first trailer to the crowd at New York Comic Con, and while that footage is not online, people who saw it say it includes Jessica’s return and Daredevil throwing down in a new suit. The season is slated to hit Disney+ in March 2026.

Quick refresher on the Netflix years

Jessica Jones was created for TV by Melissa Rosenberg and followed an ex-superhero turned private eye who runs Alias Investigations and goes after some very ugly villains, starting with Kilgrave. It is also one of the few Netflix Marvel shows that lasted beyond two seasons: three 13-episode runs, in 2015, 2018, and 2019. That longevity matters if Marvel is about to spin her back up.

The bigger picture: Netflix vets sliding into Disney+

If Marvel moves forward with a new Jessica Jones project, she would be the third major Netflix-era character to get a fresh Marvel Studios spotlight after Daredevil and The Punisher. Here is where things stand right now:

  • Daredevil: Born Again has Season 2 arriving March 2026, and Marvel is already developing a third season.
  • The Punisher is filming a Marvel Studios Special Presentation.
  • Both Daredevil and The Punisher projects are expected to land in 2026 on Disney+.
  • All three characters — Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher — appear in Born Again Season 2, though it is unclear if they actually share a scene.

Yes, it is a little funny that the canceled Netflix crew is now anchoring Disney+ plans. But if Winderbaum’s tease is any indication, Jessica is closer to a true comeback than anyone was expecting.
