Mark Wahlberg turned a simple home mix-up into late-night gold on Jimmy Fallon’s show, revealing his kids briefly believed Kim Kardashian was about to drop by.

Mark Wahlberg went on Fallon with a classic dad move that spiraled into a full family meltdown about Kim Kardashian. Spoiler: no Kim. Just a dog. And somehow, they now have six.

The setup: Kim Kardashian? Not exactly

Right at the top of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy asked Wahlberg if he knows Kim Kardashian. He said yes, because of course he does. Then Fallon teed up a family story that involves Kim without actually involving Kim. Which is exactly the vibe here.

How a dog turned into a Kardashian emergency

Wahlberg — the Ted guy, also the Max Payne star — finally caved and decided to get his family a dog. He had spotted a tiny one in Beverly Hills, asked the owner if that was as big as it gets, got a yes, and thought: perfect, manageable, done.

He found a similar pup and tried to build some excitement at home. That backfired.

Somebody really important is coming today.

That was enough for the kids to run to mom and announce that Kim Kardashian — yes, the SKIMS founder — was coming over. This is where things go off the rails.

  • Wahlberg is in a meeting when his wife bursts in, furious: the house is a mess, you can’t have them over like this.
  • He has no idea what she’s talking about. The kids told her Kim’s on the way.
  • He breaks the news: no, it’s a dog.
  • Now she’s mad she didn’t get to pick the breed and declares that dog is not coming in the house.
  • Wahlberg shrugs and says she can tell the kids that when the dog arrives.
  • The dog shows up, waddles out of the crate, and mom immediately dives on it, basically squeezing it half to death from excitement.
  • Cut to: they now have six dogs living with them.

Peak misunderstanding. Also peak parent logic: threaten to be the one to disappoint the kids, and suddenly the dog is family.

Why he was on Fallon in the first place

Wahlberg was there to plug his next one, Play Dirty, which hits Prime Video on October 1, 2025.
