Among the many beloved shows that returned to the small screen in early 2024 after a long strike-induced hiatus, Young Sheldon is arguably the most popular. Season 7 of the fan-favorite TBBT spin-off premiered over a month ago, drawing millions of viewers to the screens. Since the seventh installment of the hit CBS sitcom will be the last, it's no surprise that viewers are eager to find out what happens next in Sheldon's life.
It's fair to say that Shelly is not the most popular character on the show, with many viewers watching for the sake of other Coopers and their storylines. For example, many people were relieved to learn that George never cheated on Sheldon's mother, Mary. Now, everyone seems to be dreading the moment when the man dies, as it's supposed to happen this season according to TBBT canon.
Fortunately, the story won't end on such a dark note, as CBS has already ordered a Young Sheldon spin-off that will focus on Georgie and Mandy's relationship/upcoming marriage. And as much as fans are excited about it, they think the new show will be boring without this YS character.
The Most Popular Cooper Sibling
Sheldon's twin sister Missy is undoubtedly the most popular Cooper child on Young Sheldon. Although she's not a genius like Sheldon, Missy is smart and socially savvy, which makes her a very likeable character. Even her past rebellious behavior, typical of teenagers, hasn't tarnished her reputation with the audience. Needless to say, viewers are eager to see her in the spin-off.

Unfortunately, Raegan Revord, who plays the character, has said that she has not been invited to join the new Georgie and Mandy-centric show. Since we know from TBBT that they will end up getting divorced, there's no point in making a sitcom just about them. It would be a lot more fun if the other Coopers were involved as well – especially because people would want to see how the family adjusts to life without George.
'A series set around Missy's high school years would have been much more interesting to watch than one about Georgie and Mandy raising their baby,' another Reddit user weighed in.
Anyway, it doesn't seem to be happening. As for Young Sheldon, it will return with a new episode on April 4.
