Gritty medical series, AMC's best drama, and Edgar Wright's crime comedy.
On April 11, the crime drama Your Friends & Neighbors premiered on Apple TV+. The plot revolves around a divorced financier who begins robbing the homes of his wealthy friends in order to maintain his lifestyle.
The showrunner of the series is Jonathan Tropper, and the lead role was played by Jon Hamm. We remember four other movies and series with the talented actor.
1. Baby Driver, 2017
Baby is a master driver who, as a child, was involved in a car accident that killed his parents. Left an orphan, the boy began stealing cars.
One day, he sets his sights on the car of crime boss Doc and is now forced to work for him to repay the debt. Part of Baby's job is to transport criminals before and after a bank robbery.
One of the armed robberies does not go as planned, and a police officer is killed during the shootout. While trying to escape, the main character crosses the path of the notorious villain Buddy (Hamm), who has no intention of letting the boy go so easily.
2. Mad Men, 2007-2015
Mad Men tells the story of the employees of the fictional advertising agency Sterling Cooper. In pursuit of the American dream, the company's employees are ready to resort to deception, cunning and tricks, completely forgetting about humanity.
For Jon Hamm Mad Men became a breakthrough project, the role in which dramatically changed the life of the actor.
Shortly before joining the series, Hamm was thinking about quitting his acting career, and after the success of the show, he became a two-time Golden Globe winner and also received an Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series.
3. A Young Doctor's Notebook, 2012-2013
In 1917, a young doctor, Vladimir, who has just graduated with honors from medical school, is sent to serve in the outback. Vladimir constantly doubts his own abilities and faces the superstitions of his patients.
Hoping to get rid of his worries, the young doctor resorts to morphine and gradually loses touch with reality. In visions, the young man sees an adult version of himself (Hamm), for whom a meeting with his younger self is the only refuge from grueling interrogations and searches.
4. Fargo, 2014-2024
Housewife Dot is kidnapped in broad daylight by two unknown men. Her mother-in-law and a police squad led by Sheriff Roy Tillman set out to find the woman.
The disappearance is full of details. It turns out that Dot is not who she claims to be. The woman was married to Tillman, a sheriff in a cowboy hat who also happens to be the leader of a sect that glorifies the cult of masculinity.
Captain Tillman became not only one of the most memorable antagonists in the Fargo universe, but also one of the most memorable roles of Hamm's career.
