Luke Grimes Confirms Big Returns in Yellowstone's New Spinoff Y: Marshals

Yellowstone might be winding down, but the Dutton family drama is far from over.
Luke Grimes just teased what's coming next in the new spinoff series Y: Marshals — and yes, some familiar faces will be along for the ride.
Grimes returns as Kayce Dutton, now eight years deep into playing the stoic cowboy-slash-Navy-SEAL hybrid. This time, Kayce joins an elite U.S. Marshals unit tasked with keeping Montana in one piece — balancing family, loyalty, and good old-fashioned shootouts in the open range.
"You will see some familiar faces," Grimes told TooFab while promoting his new film Eddington. "It's going to be year eight for me, playing the same character… He feels like a family member, and it would be weird to fully let him go anyway, so I'm glad we get to reconnect."
No word yet on exactly who is coming back, but considering the Taylor Sheridan-verse is basically a rotating cast of rough men on horseback, don't be surprised if you see a few other Duttons — or at least someone who's already killed for one.
Filming for Y: Marshals is about to kick off, and it's one of several new spinoffs in development. If you're still keeping track, there's also The Madison and whatever's next in the 1883/1923 prequel corner. Sheridan's building a whole Dutton cinematic universe — just with more dust and trauma.
So if you thought the Yellowstone saga was wrapping up anytime soon… nope. The hats are staying on.
